Step by Step Up for Charity

This morning, my parents and I took part in this "Step by Step Up for Charity" by Nanyang Siang Pau. Basically, it's a hiking competition aimed to raise funds for the Nanyang Fund or something. We hiked up to Penang Hill 84 which took around 1 hour. Compared to Padang Tembak 39 (the one I hike regularly up till 22), Penang Hill 84 is very tiring! The road is like, it never ends, it's just so so sooo tiring, then it just gets steeper and steeper and there isn't much flat road to stand on! That means we were hiking, hiking, hiking non-stop! Most people around 20+ died tired out halfway up. Heh, my father was saying: "Zha bo gi na ah! Jiu jiak jiu pui ah! Boh un tong loh!" (Young girls! Eat until so fat! Never exercise loh!) Seriously hoh, those Ah Pek Ah Ma were even better! Nevertheless, the first prize went to a young man around 20 or 30, 2nd and 3rd prize went to two older men. My father was 97th, me being 124th and my mother getting 146th. My father c...

Sharon's First Law of... (undefined)

Image
Yes, as the great inventor and researcher I am, I'm finally publishing my latest law on... poops =X *drum rolls* Sharon's First Law of (undefined) When you're sad, apply this law! Tell yourself : "Swallow your tears into your stomach and let it out from your *cough* butt!" I know it's gross but I just love it, because I was feeling damn sad then I just came out with this "theory" XD I might as well blog it down, who knows one day I might decide to commit suicide then I can apply this theory to save myself =X Waiting, I was the first -_- Anyway, the competition didn't turn out good. I lost d. If I say I joined it just to gain experience, then definitely I'm lying. I think if I say that I'm just escaping from the reality. >_> A competition is a competition, it's cruel (and good for those who won lah). But tak kisah lah, I can't go back to the past anyway, so I better go on with my life lah! (Eh, how come I sound like I'...

Grand Final!

Image
I got into the grand final! Yay! ....... now what? Yah, I really HENG HENG, AK³, Ang Kong Kia Kueh and got into the grand final for KDU DJ Talent Search 2007! I was *quite* confident until... this morning, I got to KDU and I heard people practising their scripts, and I was like "Oh gosh, they were all VERY GOOD! O_O " Then I started to lose my confidence d =( The DJs for today's event (KDU students) and the one in white shirt is my mentor, Enrique. He was the producer for the show this morning! My mentor, Enrique told me I was contestant no. 22. Before this, he told me I was number 8 on the phone! Getting the first is already bad enough, but I never thought getting no. 22 would be even worse! Heh, I always loved getting the first few numbers (exclude number one please). I waited from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. just for my turn. Susah susah... seksa lah the time of waiting XD OK lah, cincai lah, tak kisah the numbering d. Now, the STORY! I was trying to keep calm in the waiting ro...

KDU DJ Talent Search 2007 - Workshop

Image
HEY HEY HEY HEY~ Good evening you people out there! This is Jam. FM, your favourite station of all time! And you're listening to "Jam on Techno", I'm the cheeky DJ Sharon, bringing you reviews on the latest gadgets and softwares! FUN FUN FUN FUN!! The KDU DJ Talent Search 2007 Workshop was funnnnnn! I was there from 8.20 a.m. (nobody was there when I arrived =.= ) till 6 p.m.. The student mentors are hyperactive, I tell you. They are very very extrovert, sooooo extrovert that I think I didn't even remember a single moment not hearing their voices. No wonder they're taking up Mass Communication. o_O Sounds scary? Yah, it's true ._. Basically, me and some other participants were briefed on how to be a good DJ, how to write a radio script, and lastly how to present it well. Then, two other participants and I were attached to this student mentor, named Enrique. Special name yah. No doubt, damn talkative as well =.= But hey~ he's a nice guy =D And kesian ...

Cameron Highlands

*Nokia monophonic ringtone rings non-stop* Father : Hello. Ha? Kim Ma Lun ah? Beh lah! Tan cheh yi beh ki zho kang, ko wu ji kio beh ki oh ah ! (Hokkien : Hello. Huh? Cameron Highlands? Cannot! She needs to go for work tomorrow, and the other one needs to go to school!) That was on Sunday evening, my parents and I were going to have our dinner when my uncle called over and asked if we wanna go Cameron Highlands. Wah , it's already 5 in the evening leh ! Of course lah , my mother needed to work and my father declined right away. *minutes later* Father : *calls uncle* Eh! Lu lang di to lok? Lang tan cheh ki ha! Yi ah? Yi emergency leave lah! Ha, ha, hmm ... (Hey! Where are you guys? We're going later, ok! Her? She's taking emergency leave! Yes, yes, hmm...) My mother said it was okay to take an *cough* emergency leave *ehem*, and we were on our way to Cameron Highlands! Three of us were rushing like mad people around the house, rushing for the toilet, rushing for our dinner...

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
Happy Mother's Day to my Mama! Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there as well! I'm a bad bad girl. This year I didn't prepare any present for her. I'm not good at expressing my feelings, I'm better at telling lame jokes. Guess what? She doesn't get any of my jokes at all =.= There was one year, she said to me jokingly "You grow older and you don't give present to me anymore! When you were younger, you would make me card or maybe give me flowers! Now leh ?" =( Ma... Of course I wanna give you presents, but I just don't have the courage to give you the present personally now. Kia paiseh lah ! Nothing to be embarassed of actually, just that I'm weird =.= That is why, for this few years, I've been giving her surprises instead of giving her the present straight. Mana tau later she come and ask me again then HOOOOWWWWWW? O_O The flowers she planted The worst part is, I'm having mid-year exam currently and I refused to go for...

Donating Blood

I went to donate blood this morning. Around 10 classmates went there as well. The event was actually organized by the Penang Wesak Day Association Committee. Our school has always been actively involved in Wesak Day events. Before I got there, I was quite nervous lah , it's my first time afterall! After registering at the counter, I was told to weigh on the scale, then to test my blood group. I gotta say, transferring blood was better than getting poked to test for blood group loh! The staff from Penang Adventist Hospital used a device to poke my finger, painful painful! After I waited for a while, it was my turn to donate blood. I was a little shaky. The experienced staff applied some alcohol on my arm, then gave me an injection. I was wondering " Wah , the needle so small only ah ? Hehe.. GOOD! " MANA TAU ! That needle was used for injection only lah ! The needle that was used for transferring blood was at least 2mm in diameter loh ! I pun terkejut , "That needle ...
