Step by Step Up for Charity
This morning, my parents and I took part in this "Step by Step Up for Charity" by Nanyang Siang Pau. Basically, it's a hiking competition aimed to raise funds for the Nanyang Fund or something. We hiked up to Penang Hill 84 which took around 1 hour.
Compared to Padang Tembak 39 (the one I hike regularly up till 22), Penang Hill 84 is very tiring! The road is like, it never ends, it's just so so sooo tiring, then it just gets steeper and steeper and there isn't much flat road to stand on! That means we were hiking, hiking, hiking non-stop! Most people around 20+died tired out halfway up. Heh, my father was saying:
"Zha bo gi na ah! Jiu jiak jiu pui ah! Boh un tong loh!"
(Young girls! Eat until so fat! Never exercise loh!)
Seriously hoh, those Ah Pek Ah Ma were even better! Nevertheless, the first prize went to a young man around 20 or 30, 2nd and 3rd prize went to two older men. My father was 97th, me being 124th and my mother getting 146th. My father could have made it to top 10 if he wasn't waiting for the two slowmos ._.
When we got there, we didn't even get a bottle of water -_- We were thirsty like hell and we didn't get anything when we got to the peak!
We went downhill and on the way, it was very misty. I couldn't really see things clearly. Very cooling~
Nanyang also organized a lucky draw, which, my parents and I were considered to be very very unlucky XD They had 50 prizes, 1st being a Suzuki motor. The 2nd prize was a CANON CAMCORDER!! I WANTTTTTTT!! T_T As I said, we were very unlucky >_> I tell you hoh, I've NEVER kena any lucky draw, except once lah. That time everyone 100% can at least kena something one. I got a pack of A4 papers back home, and everyone else too -_-
My mother somehow cramped her legs, she had to apply some medication on her knees. I have no idea what was the first-aider doing. The last time I went for duty, we were told not to apply cold (e.g. ice) and hot (e.g. Counter Pain) on a patient's cramp/fractured/strained part together. That girl was moving VERY VERY SLOWLY. I was VERY VERY IMPATIENT. She SLOWLY opened the ice box, SLOWLY looked for a plastic bag, SLOWLY put some ice into the plastic bag, SLOWLY wrapped the plastic bag in a triangular bandage, then SLOWLY applied the ice pack on my mother's knee. Wah, she was so gentle =.= I left to get a cup of Milo for my mother. When I got back, she was applying some oil for muscle pain. *sigh~*
No eye deer, no eye see.
