Ghost Talk
I've heard a lot about people seeing those good friends. I myself haven't encountered one yet, till now. Usually when people tell me about this kind of stuff, most probably I'll tell them "Stop being so superstitious!" or just give them a "o_O" look.
As I heard more and more about these stuff, and combining my limited knowledge in Physics, I came out with something.
People usually describe these good friends as wandered spirits or souls. They have no shadows, they have no chins, or some may say, they look like cloud. Noone really knows how these good friends look like.
Speaking of shadows, shadows form because light is casted on the object, right?
Our eyes see things because the things we see reflect light to our eyes, and the brain interprets and tell us. Well, since our good friends have no shadow, that means no light is shone on them, correct? So, if no light in shone on them, that means we can't even see them. Unless they function like the Sun, that they produce light on their own, else, there's no way we can see them. But then again, if they can produce light on their own, yet, at the same time, they have no shadows, they're gonna look like 2D cartoons - no shadows, no highlights, same colour throughout the whole character. They'll probably look like...
The Simpsons.

The Simpsons, ha! No shadows!
The more I think, the funnier it gets. Maybe I'm just being anti-superstitious. But still, I still pray, I still chants "Amitabha, amitabha" sometimes, and being religious doesn't equal to superstitious.
