Schools may be relocated to ease congestion
PENANG: The three Phor Tay schools on Bagan Jermal Road here may be relocated to ease traffic congestion in the area.
Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said he was recently approached by the Phor Tay school board requesting that the schools be relocated to the southwest district on the island.
The district encompasses the Batu Ferringhi-Teluk Bahang-Balik Pulau- Bayan Lepas-Pantai Jerejak areas.
The three schools are SMJK Phor Tay, SM Phor Tay (Private) and SRJK Phor Tay.
Dr Koh said there was a possibility that the schools be relocated to either a private piece of land or one that belonged to a Chinese associa-tion.
“Everything is still in the preliminary stage. We have yet to identify a suitable location.
“Once we have done that, the schools will have to decide if they are agreeable,” he said, adding that the state would have to get the Education Ministry's approval.
Oh noooo... my school might be moved to another area which is like, sooooooooooooo far away from the current area -_-
I think the reasons are dumb, what to ease congestion? It's always the other school that's causing the traffic jam, not us. Why should our school be relocated? I think if it's relocated, the number of students is so gonna decrease! *sigh*
That means.. I probably won't have the chance to revisit my school again after I graduate! T_T
